My Summer Behind the Wheel: 2025 PDRA Race Recap

Hey y’all, it’s Danika! This season has been such a ride already. I’ve had the chance to race at some awesome tracks on the PDRA tour, and each one has given me memories, lessons, and plenty of reasons to keep chasing my dreams.

We kicked things off in Ohio at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk...what a way to start the summer! After that, I headed to Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek for the North vs South Shootout, and that one really tested me to stay consistent and focused. Michigan’s Northern Nationals at US 131 Motorsports Park kept me on my toes, too. The weekend didn’t go exactly as planned but reminded me how important it is to bounce back and also what to do in the event of a tornado! Then there was Bristol, Thunder Valley Dragway in Tennessee. The name says it all. Between the atmosphere and the tricky conditions, that track makes me fall in love with racing all over again and doubt my abilities at the same time!

Right now, I’m sitting 7th in the PDRA Pro Jr. Dragster Championship points. That feels pretty amazing considering the competition this year, but it also makes me hungrier for more. With three race results left on the schedule, the final standings for the World Championship are still up for grabs, and I never count myself out.

Next up is PDRA DragWars, September 11–13 at GALOT Motorsports Park in Benson, North Carolina. I can’t wait! I love racing at GALOT and always have great results. GALOT is always electric, and I’m ready for it.

This summer has been about more than just racing. It’s been about learning who I am as a driver, figuring out how to handle the tough weekends, and celebrating the good ones. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made, but I also know I’ve got a lot more to give, especially in these last two races in my Jr. before I age out!

And here’s the exciting part, there might even be some dirt track racing in my future. That’s right, I could be adding a new kind of challenge to the schedule, and I’m pumped at the thought of getting even more seat time.

I’m looking forward to finishing out the year strong, representing my sponsors, Delta Plumbing, LLC, Spud, Inc. Straps & Equipment and JJM Pool Division. I’d also love to have new sponsors join me for the ride. Racing is about more than what happens at the track; it’s the community, the fans, and the partners who make it all possible.

Thanks to everyone who’s cheered me on so far, whether you’ve been at the track, following online, or sending me good luck messages. The season isn’t over yet, and I promise there’s more excitement to come.

Danika Miles
